The Cumberland Woodland Owners Association
The Cumberland Woodland Owners Association (CWOA) is an organization of private forestland owners and others interested in forestry issues in south central Pennsylvania. The mission of the association is to provide information, education and an exchange of ideas to its members and others about the methods and benefits of proper forest management.

JAN. 14TH – JAMIE FLICKINGER, FROM THE PA. GAME COMMISSION WILL SPEAK TO US ABOUT BATS AND WHAT THEY MEAN TO US AND THE FORESTS, AT THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY EXT. OFFICE AT 7:00 P.M. ROOM PS-3.
FEB. 11TH – RICK WATTS, FROM QUALITY DEER MANAGEMENT ASSOCIATION WILL TALK TO US ABOUT DEER MANAGEMENT AND WHAT IT MEANS TO THE HEALTH OF OUR FORESTS AT THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY EXT. OFFICE AT 7:00 P.M. ROOM PS-1.
MAR. 11TH - DR. JIM FINLEY WILL TALK TO US ABOUT FOREST REGENERATION AND WHAT IT MEANS TO THE FUTURE OF OUR FORESTS, AT THE FRANKLIN COUNTY EXT. OFFICE AT 7:00 P.M.
APR. 8TH – DAVE AND DIANNE CORNMAN WILL GIVE US A TOUR OF SPRING HAVEN AND THE NATIVE PLANTS THAT THEY GROW THERE. THE MEETING WILL START AT 6:30 AT THEIR NEWBURG PROPERTY. DIRECTIONS TO THE SITE WILL FOLLOW AT A LATER DATE.
MAY 19TH – A FIELD TRIP TO "REINEMAN SANCTUARY" (THE DICKINSON COLLEGE PROPERTY AT THE TOP OF WAGGONER'S GAP). TOUR WILL START AT 7:00 P.M. (EUGENE WINGERT TO BE THE SPEAKER)
JUNE 10TH – A TRIP TO MARTIN LEHMAN'S SAWMILL OPERATION IN CARLISLE, SO THAT WE MAY BETTER UNDERSTAND WHAT IS REQUIRED TO MAKE THE QUALITY LUMBER THAT WE USE. TOUR WILL BEGIN AT 7:00 P.M. THOSE FOLKS INTERESTED IN ATTENDING SHOULD MEET AT THE REAR OF THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY EXTENSION OFFICE TO CARPOOL TO THE SITE.
SEPT. 11TH – THIS MEETING WILL BE A TOUR OF THE LARRY MILLER PROPERTY TO VIEW WHAT HE HAS DONE WITH HIS STEWARDSHIP PLAN AS TO THIS PROPERTY. THE TOUR WILL BE LED BY ZACK ROEDER, DCNR FORESTER. THIS MEETING WILL START AT 1:00 P.M. DIRECTIONS TO THE SITE WILL FOLLOW AT A LATER DATE.
OCT. 14TH - TOM MCCARTY FROM THE CUMBERLAND COUNTY EXTENSION OFFICE WILL SPEAK TO US ABOUT PONDS AND WHAT THEY CAN DO FOR OUR WILDLIFE AND FORESTS. THIS MEETING WILL BE HELD AT THE FRANKLIN COUNTY EXTENSION OFFICE AT 7:00 P.M.
